Its breast cancer awareness month so am reminding everyone to check their breasts. I had a little chat on radio BBC Leicester this week about BC. It was the autumn equinox 2 weeks ago and pretty much 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I was feeling very reflective upon the last few years. For the first time in a long long time I feel very happy, settled, content and proud. I often forget what I have been through and do not give myself enough credit.I feel like I go through life like its a dream. I was diagnosed with breast cancer just after my 29th birthday last year. I found the lump by accident as I never examined myself. I like many people thought I was invincible. I have had a mastectomy and have undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy and am taking hormone treatment for the next 5 years. The worst is now over and I am waiting for my reconstruction.
